1. John Locke wrote about the natural rights of man including the right to life, liberty, and property. Why did Thomas Jefferson change "property" to "the pursuit of happiness" in the Decleration text?
- He did it because he believed that property is not what people wanted, but people wanted the right to be happy and free of opportunity
3. The original draft of the Declaration had admonitions against the British people. Why do you think that those were left out of the final version?
- The people who wrote the Decleration only wrote it to tell Britian why they were leaving. They did not want to insult the British or get them angry.

1.John Locke wrote about the natural rights of man including life, liberty, and property. Why did Thomas Jefferson change property to pusuit of happiness in the Declaration?
* Property is a very specfic term, and back then slavery was big, so he changed it to happiness. But not just because of that, pursuit of happiness sounds better than property.
3. The original draft of the Declaration had admonitions against the British. Why do you think that they were taken out of the final draft?
* Because it was unwise to smack-talk the most powerful nation in the world. And because that all men are equal, that kind of out of place in a formal document.

1.)John Locke wrote about the natural rights of man including the right to life, liberty, and property.
Why did Thomas Jefferson change property to the pursuit of happiness in the Declaration?
1.)Thomas Jefferson changed Locke's statement because property Isn't always a natural right and he probably knew that it would become less of a right in the future.

2.)The original draft of the Declaration had admonitions against the British people.
Why do you think that those were left out of the final version?
2.)I think that that was left out of the declaration because the declaration is
telling all countries that they are splitting apart, not just the British.

1.because freedom is a natural right and it shouldnt be taken away from any man

because in they're eyes king GERORGE HAD WAY TO MUCH POWER AND SOME OF IT SHOULD BE TAKEN SO THE PEOPLE WILL HAVE POWER BECAUSE IN THE END WE ARE ONE NATION

3) The admonitions in the draft were taken out because the idea was not to be the British enemies, and this admonitions against the British people would not help, so they were taken out from the Declaration of Independence.

1) Thomas changed Locks statement in the Declaration text because properties are not always what people want, and the natural rights are liberty and a life that makes you happy. Property is not really a natural right like food or drink.
